Transient Limiter for Protecting Spectrum Analyzer

LIT-930A - For conducted emissions testing with LISN

9 kHz to 30 MHz

Com-Power LIT-930A transient limiter, 9 kHz–30 MHz, 10 dB—protects EMI receiver during LISN tests

Transient Limiter for Protecting Spectrum Analyzer

  • LIT-930A transient limiter, 9 kHz–30 MHz — protects a spectrum analyzer or EMI receiver input from high-level transients during EMC conducted emissions testing, with extended low-frequency coverage down to 9 kHz.
  • Broader frequency range than the LIT-153A — operation extends down to 9 kHz, covering the full 9 kHz–30 MHz conducted emissions band for low-frequency disturbance voltage measurements.
  • Higher 4 W CW (+36 dBm) maximum input rating — withstands stronger transients and long-duration inrush events than the LIT-153A, adding margin for demanding EUTs.
  • Shields the receiver from LISN-generated transients — clamps power-up surges, line disturbances, and switching spikes from the Line Impedance Stabilization Network before they reach the analyzer front end.
  • Installs inline from LISN to receiver and replaces a separate 10 dB pad — the built-in 10 dB in-band attenuation simplifies the setup and delivers consistent input levels across operators and shifts.
  • Built-in band-pass filtering cuts overload risk — integrated low-pass and high-pass filters reject out-of-band signals and mains-related energy, improving analyzer linearity and the detection of genuine emissions.
  • Well-suited to motors, UPS systems, and large power supplies — ideal where low-frequency conducted noise and strong start-up transients are common.
  • Preserves a clean 50 Ω measurement chain with rugged N-type connectors — enhances instrument longevity and test throughput in both R&D and production, backed by a three-year warranty.

How it works: The LIT-930A installs inline between the LISN and the spectrum analyzer / EMI receiver. It combines a low-pass filter, a high-pass filter, transient suppressors, and two 5 dB impedance-matching attenuation pads (input and output) to protect the instrument and reject out-of-band energy.
Vs. LIT-153A: The LIT-930A extends coverage down to 9 kHz and accepts a higher 4 W CW (+36 dBm) maximum input level, making it suited to low-frequency conducted noise and strong start-up transients from motors, UPS systems, and large power supplies.
