4x Series Single Phase LISN Overview
The Com-Power 4x Series single phase Line Impedance Stabilization Networks (LISNs) are designed exclusively for MIL-STD 461 CE102 conducted emissions testing. Operating from 10 kHz to 10 MHz with 50 µH air-core inductors, these LISNs match the impedance stabilization network specified in MIL-STD 461 for power lead emissions measurements. The series offers two current ratings—25 A and 100 A—and both models support multi-frequency AC power buses (50/60 Hz, 400 Hz, and 800 Hz) commonly found in military and aerospace platforms. Each unit ships with individual MIL-STD 461 calibration data and a three-year warranty.

Key Features Across the 4x Series
- MIL-STD 461 CE102 Focused: Purpose-built for the CE102 conducted emissions test method, covering the exact 10 kHz–10 MHz frequency range specified in MIL-STD 461F/G.
- 50 µH Air-Core Inductors: Provide the impedance stabilization required by the MIL-STD 461 LISN circuit definition without magnetic saturation at any load level.
- Multi-Frequency AC Support: Voltage ratings accommodate 50/60 Hz ground power, 400 Hz aircraft power, and 800 Hz high-speed generator buses—all from a single LISN.
- High DC Voltage Capability: Up to 600 VDC (LI-4100) supports 270 VDC and 540 VDC military vehicle and aircraft power architectures.
- 50 Ω N-Type RF Connector: Standard measurement interface for spectrum analyzers and EMI receivers.
- SUPERCON® Shrouded Connections: Superior Electric SUPERCON shrouded sockets with color-coded plugs for safe, repeatable mains and EUT hookup.
- Individual Calibration: Every unit ships with impedance and insertion loss data plus a calibration certificate per MIL-STD 461. ISO 17025 accredited calibration is available for the LI-4100.
- Three-Year Warranty: Both models include a standard three-year manufacturer warranty.
Real-Life Use Cases
| Model |
Typical Use Cases |
LI-400C
(25 A) |
Ideal for avionics control units, military radios, ruggedized computers, night-vision power supplies, and shipboard navigation electronics. The compact form factor and 25 A rating make it well suited for bench-level MIL-STD 461 CE102 testing of low-to-medium power defense subsystems operating on 28 VDC, 115 VAC (400 Hz), or standard 50/60 Hz mains. |
LI-4100
(100 A) |
Built for high-power military vehicle drive electronics, aircraft generator controllers, shipboard power distribution units, large UPS systems for command centers, and ground support equipment. The 100 A capacity with forced-air cooling and expanded voltage ratings (525 VAC at 50/60 Hz, 270 VAC at 400 Hz, 135 VAC at 800 Hz, 600 VDC) handle the most demanding MIL-STD 461 CE102 test configurations. A second unit pair extends coverage to 3-phase military power systems. |
4x Series vs. 3x Series — Which MIL-STD LISN Do You Need?
Both the 4x and 3x Series serve military EMC testing, but they target different test methods and frequency ranges. The 4x Series (50 µH / 10 kHz–10 MHz) is specifically designed for the MIL-STD 461 CE102 conducted emissions test, which uses a 50 µH LISN and measures only up to 10 MHz. The 3x Series (5 µH / 10 kHz–400 MHz) covers a broader set of standards including DO-160, CISPR 25, and MIL-STD 461 test methods that require a 5 µH LISN and measurements up to 400 MHz. Choose the LI-400C for standard CE102 bench testing up to 25 A, or the LI-4100 when your equipment under test demands 100 A capacity and support for high-voltage multi-frequency AC/DC military power buses.
